Leon Semke, my father-in-law, was close friends with both Doris and Elmer since the mid-90s, primarily at the Washougal Senior Center. Doris also encouraged our son, Chris, to continue to write poetry.
Doris indelibly touched the lives of many people with her quick wit, ready smile, genuine warmth and big heart. We feel blessed to have known Doris.
I will always remember your mom\'s great smile, kind words, and humble spirit. She wrote a poem for each of my children when they were babies. Those poems are a special treasure in their baby books. Doris will be missed!
I was so sorry to read of Doris\' passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. She and Mom were such good friends for so many years. They both had to be special individuals to carry on a friendship for over 80 years. She will be missed by all who knew her. I have several of her poems that she wrote for Mom about their childhood together. Anne
A few years ago, I met Mrs. Crispien when I interviewed her for an article that ran, along with some of her poetry, in the Spring Hill Review. I\'m glad for the chance to have known her, however briefly. She was a secial lady. I\'m sorry for your loss.
For over 18 years, Doris and Elmer were the most wonderful neighbors a person could ask for. Our children have so many delightful memories of them. We will always remember Doris\' gift of poetry and we treasure the poems that she wrote for each of us in honor of many occasions. She was so generous with her flowers and vegetables and would often call us just to tell us that she enjoyed our yard or Christmas lights. Doris was a very dear woman that will be very much missed.
To the Family,
Our prayers are with you at this time. Doris was a special person and will be truely missed. God Bless. Love from the Classmates of Class of 64

Hi Karen,
My thoughts and prayers to you and all of your family. It is so hard losing our moms, no matter how old we are. May the peace of God and those wonderful memories comfort you and your family at this time.
It was so nice working alongside you at Overlake a few years back, and catching up from years past...Malibu and Young Life. Still seems like "yesterday" at times.
May God bless all of you,
Laurie Johnson Ensign
To the family
I was saddened to hear of Doris\' passing. I also celebrate that she is in the arms of our Lord today. She will be missed terribly, especially by the folks at Highland Terrace. Her gift of music and always cheerfulness was a great gift to the residents.
God Bless you all.
My thoughts go out to the family. This is a great loss. Doris always kept her humor, kindness and patience during the trying times. I\'ll always remember seeing her and Elmer out in their wonderful garden and the welcome I always got when I stopped by during a walk. Rest now, dear Doris.
