MYRTLE M. JONES SAUSVILLE Myrtle Sausville was born February 17, 1915 in LaCombe, Alberta, Canada to Louie and Nela Abel Hansen. She moved to the United States permanently at age 18 to Washougal and worked as a caregiver to an elderly woman. She married Chester R. Jones in 1935 and after he passed away in 1967 she would marry Joseph M. Sausville in 1976. He later passed away in 1984. Myrtle was active in the Bethel Congregational Church, sang in the choir and was in the Women?s Club. She loved her flowerbeds, her garden and preserved her foods from the garden. Myrtle loved her children and her grandchildren. She worked at Highland Terrace Nursing Center for 11 years and after she retired she continued to volunteer there. She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Schmidt of Washougal; sons, Larry and his wife Donna of Bouse, AZ, David and his wife April of Camas; sister, Bernice Bourcier of Portland, OR; step-son, Peter Sausville of Atlanta, GA; step-daughters, Sheila Nye of New Hampshire, Sandra Folsom of Valdosta, GA; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Thursday, January 27 at 2pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will follow at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. The casket will be open on Thursday from 10am to 1pm.
