Ronald Wayne Winter
May 2, 1935 - October 10, 2013
Ronald Wayne Winter was born in McMinnville Oregon, raised in Banks, Oregon, and gained his first real world experience in Korea as a marine. He got married to Mary Raffle soon thereafter and raised his four children, Michael, Jeffery, Teresa and Laurie in Newport, Oregon. He continued his military service as a National Guardsman in the Newport, Oregon armory, causing no end of trouble for the men he then commanded. He gained more family and the love of his life when he married Ann Virginia Rowley, also from Newport.
He retired from the armory and returned to long haul trucking to finish his career and also moved to North Bonneville after his ultimate retirement. Sadly, Ronald passed away unexpectedly on October 10. He is survived by his cherished wife of 36 years Ann Rowley Winter, and his children, Sue Ron Keesee, Michael Karen Winter, Kandi Steve Luckini, Jeff Louise Winter, Laurie Omar Ogsaen, John Michael Karen Wehling, Keevan Wagner, 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Teresa Winter.
His Memorial service will be October 17 at 3:30 pm in the Eagle's lodge at 150 SW 1st St. Stevenson Washington. To send condolences or to sign the online guest book please visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
