CHARLES KACIN
Our beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, Charles Kacin passed away on February6, 2013 at the age of 71.
Charles was born on June 24, 1941 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Joseph and Frances Kacin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan. They were married in 1961 and were married for 45 years.
Charles graduated from Washougal High School in 1959 and studied music at Central Washington University. He had a natural talent for music, could play by ear and played the piano at his high school graduation. In 1963-64 he served in the Army being stationed at Fort Monmouth, NJ and Germany. During that time he learned skills in Instrument Technology and was hired at Crown Zellerbach Paper Co. working as an Instrument Technician. He retired from Crown Z after 41 years of service.
He loved his family, dear friends, Dixieland music, photography and videography, all technology gadgets and had an extreme passion for RC plane flying. He was a member of the Fern Prairie Modelers Club for many years and was the current Vice President of the club. He will be most remembered for his witty humor and kind, sweet nature.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Crockford and husband Bruce of Carson, WA; son, James Kacin of Washougal; brother, Joseph Kacin and Donna of Huntington Beach, CA; sister, Ellen Scarisbrick and Lane of Salinas, CA; brother-in-law, Gary Wood of Beaverton, OR and nieces, nephews and cousins.
