Obituary of Bettie Louise Brock
Bettie Louise Brock, 95, a resident of Vancouver, WA for the past two years, passed away on November 26, 2018.
She was born on January 10, 1923 in Lamar, CO to Ralph and Muriel (Lee) Strain.
She moved to Camas at age 12 and lived there for most of the next 80 years graduating from Camas High School in 1940. Bettie was a 1940 Paper Festival Princess. August 1, 1942 she married Bill Brock. After their 5 children were in school she became a secretary and later a loan officer for National Bank of Commerce in Camas.
Bill and Bettie loved to spend time with friends camping, boating, dancing and time at their property at Copalis Beach, WA and on the Wind River at Carson, WA. In 2002 she reconnected with a childhood friend Harold Robertson and they enjoyed each other’s company for the next 15 years.
Bettie is survived by her children; Jaci (Chuck) Owens, Washougal; Judy (Bob) Alonzo, Vancouver & Casa Grande, AZ; Jim (Kathy) Brock and Ron Brock, Camas and Grant (Kathie) Brock, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill. March 2, 1994 and her grandson Jason Brock, February 18, 1995.
We would like to thank Vera and Nick Limonchenko and the staff of Victoria’s Adult Family Home for their wonderful loving care during Mom’s last years as well as Peace Health Hospice for their wonderful care and support. Memorials may be made to Peace Health Hospice in her name.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, November 30, 11am at Camas Cemetery. Straub’s Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
