To The Gilson Family,
Your loving Sy will be missed, As his love for life was so great.
I could not have asked for a better friend than I had in him.
He was always making you laugh and would give you some fresh thoughts on life when he thought you were not having the best of days.
I have worked for Safeway 21 years
and when Sy would come in, the first thing he would say to me was HI HONITA, a nickname he gave me years ago and go on to do his shopping. When he was ready to check out we had a chance to tell each other how the familys were doing. He was always proud to tell me about a beach trip you all went on and how nice it was go get home again. I will miss my friend Sy

Tina and all - Sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. He was always greeting me with a "How you doing?" in and outside of the mill. He was a good man.
To all of you - I am so sorry for your loss, I only knew your Dad briefly but enjoyed my talks with him. His eyes always sparkled when I asked how one of the 'kids' were - I could tell he was extremely proud of you all. He will be missed. Love to you - Betsy
Audrey, Tina, Sandy, Tony, Terry and Dennis,
The Beardshears are all sorry for your loss. We have such fond memories of so many years ago, being neighbors for close to our entire childhood. Memories can never be taken from us.....so he will live with us forever.
You are in all our prayers at this time. He was a great man!

I have many wonderful memories growing up in Camas Washington. Being in Scouting with Scoutmaster Gilson was certainly among the best. I remember and cherish his love of the outdoors and commitment to family and community, his solid work ethic and his sincire desire to spend his vacations with his scouts.
What a great testament to what a man should be and how he should live his life!
I knew Sy from the paper mill and Nonwoven Fabrics, and my dad had also worked with him for many years. He was a great guy who liked and got along with everybody. My condolences to his family.
Sy was one of a kind! I was so sorry to hear of his passing.
He was one of those guys I loved to run into anywhere because he always had a jokemost of the time it was a groaner but he always made me laugh.
His cheerfulness, kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by many.
