Ray Hunt was a kind, loving, giving man and a good friend of mine too.
I miss him greatly.
He took in my wife and I to stay with him for a few months in 2004 when we were about to go homeless.
He wanted companionship after the loss of his wife, and that is what we gave him and more. We really got to know Ray and we were truly blessed by him. He was an active man maintaining a garden at his apt. till 2006 when he was admitted to an assisted living home. He was a sociable man visiting with the tenants at his apt. and at the local Safeway and Shorty\'s Nursery too.
Every Friday night was filled with fun, watching the fights on TV and eating a fresh hot home cooked meal by my wife for Ray to enjoy and burning a log in the fireplace. Ray was an independent man and always loved riding his custom Chevy truck and listening to the Old bands from yesteryear.
His favorite TV programs were MASH, Bonanza, P.I. Magnum and The Heat of the Night. Ray went to bed early each night but he arose at the crack of dawn to start his day and do gardening, shopping and visiting with his tenants and friends.
Ray was a successful busineess man and still had a sharp mind until his passing.
His favorite lunch was roast beef with swiss cheese on rye bread with spread.
Ray even showed us he could cook a really good dinner every now and then.
We visited Ray often since 2006, once we found out he was placed in an assisted living facility.
He always wanted a ride from me which I always gave him when I could and he always told me how much it meant to him to be out and about and enjoy the scenery and see his friends and visit places.
