Obituary of George Maurice Kirkham

GEORGE MAURICE KIRKHAM George Kirkham, age 78, passed away May 29, 2008 in Vancouver. He was born September 3, 1929 in Rangoon, Burma to English parents George and Helen Kirkham. They later moved to India and then to England where he went to college and studied accounting. He married Joy Woodcock in 1956 and they moved to Montreal, Canada. In 1967 they moved to San Francisco and eventually to Southern California. In the years between 1984 and 2005 he lived between Vancouver, WA and Southern California before permanently moving to Vancouver. He spent the past two years living in Camas. George was a history buff and loved reading books on WWI and WWII. He was also a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Weber of Vancouver; son, Tony Kirkham of San Marcos, CA; sisters, Cherry Jornung of Denmark, Helena Burke of Alberta, Canada; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A rosary service will be held Thursday, June 5 at 7pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. A funeral mass will be Friday, June 6 at 10am at St. Thomas.
