Obituary of Daniel John Yearout

Daniel John Yearout Daniel Yearout, a Vancouver resident, died Saturday April 26th in Vancouver. He was 53. Mr. Yearout was born September 24, 1954 in Coeur dâ??Alene, ID to Elizabeth Balliot and Dalbert Yearout. He grew up in Northern Idaho. He entered the Air Force after high school and served four years. After his discharge he attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. He worked as a computer programmer for different companies. But his passion was scuba diving. He became a Dive Master and taught diving at Clark College. He was also a Merchant Marine officer and was proud of the fact that he earned his credentials to captain 100-ton vessels. He owned and operated Beneath the Waves Dive Shop in Vancouver for many years but sold it when he learned of his illness, working the last four years in the Caribbean. He had a zest for life and made one last trip to Las Vegas with his mother and sisters to see a show shortly before his death. Daniel is survived by his mother Elizabeth Balliot of Coeur dâ??Alene, ID; ex-wife and cherished friend Kathy Keller Yearout of Vancouver; daughter Angela Yearout Richardson of Omaha, NE; sons Ian, Ryan and Aaron Yearout all of Vancouver; brother David of LaLiberstad, Nicaragua; sisters Debra Samsel and Diana Farquhar both of Coeur dâ??Alene, ID and Dolores Borley of Smelterville, ID; he also has 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 2006. The family is planning a memorial in Danielâ??s honor on Saturday May 10th at 2pm at the Briar Rose Inn in Vancouver.
