Obituary of Annette Louise Morasch

Annette L. Morasch was born in LA on February 7, 1922. She passed away on January 30, 2008 in Vancouver at age 85. Annette grew up in LA and attended UCLA. In 1943, during WWII she met and married John. They were married for 64 years. They lived in Douglas AFB, Ariz; Hobbs, NM; Roswell, NM; Camas, WA; McCord AFB, WA; Mobile, AL. Dover AFB, Del; London, England; Travis AFB, CA.; Evereux, France; Lakenheath, England; and back to Travis AFB, during their 30 years in the US Air Force. In 1971 they retired to Camas, then moved to Vancouver 9 years ago. Annette was a member of the Camas Friendâ??s Church, active as a leader in various scouting organizations as her children grew up, Chairman and long-standing volunteer of the Camas Treasure House, President of Camas Womenâ??s Missionary Union, Sunday School Superintendent and song leader at Camas Friends Church. Annette enjoyed garage sales, singing, sewing, crocheting, reading and crosswords. She mostly enjoyed her children, grand children and great-grand children. Her greatest wish was that each member of her family would know Jesus Christ as she did. Annette is survived by her husband of 64 years, John, one son, Dr. John L. Morasch of Seattle, two daughters, Kristi Gano of Camas, and Dr. Annette Schaad of Vancouver, 6 grand children, Steve Morasch, Mike Morasch, John Paul Morasch, Helen May, David Gano and Cory Gano, all of Camas or Vancouver; and 10 great-grand children, Brittany Nicole, Jasmine, Aliera, Dylan, Gracia, Brooke, Danny, Lindsay, Joey and Josh. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joanne, in 1976, and one sister, Vera Wilburn of Hawthorne, CA. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at 11:00 at Straubâ??s Funeral Home in Camas.
