Obituary of Patricia F. Jones

PATRICIA F. JONES Patricia Jones, age 92, passed away January 14, 2008 in Vancouver. She was born July 23, 1915 in Los Angeles, CA to Mildred Clarke and Bert Firminger. Patricia was raised in Beverly Hills where she graduated from high school and then graduated from ULCA with a Bachelorâ??s Degree in English. She then joined the Navy and served during WWII mostly as a cable censor. In 1948 she married Morris Jones in Corona Del Mar, CA. They would move around California and she worked as an English teacher. They retired and moved to Ashland, OR in 1988. Morris passed away in 1998 and Patricia would then move to Vancouver to be closer to family. She enjoyed literature, Shakespeare, classical music and traveling. Survivors include her sons, Stanley Jones-Umberger of Washougal, Craig Jones of Los Altos Hills, CA; daughter, Laurie Jones of Sacramento, CA; sister, Jane Heidsiek of Vancouver; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A private service will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will be in Ashland, OR. Arrangements are under the direction of Straubâ??s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas.
