EDWIN ROY HAGENSEN Edwin Roy Hagensen, age 85, passed away December 10, 2007 in Vancouver. He was born January 14, 1922 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Nis and Vita Hagensen. They moved to Camas in July of 1923 and then to Fern Prairie in 1927. Roy has lived there ever since. Mr. Hagensen served in the Army from December 19, 1942 through November 11, 1945 as a lineman. He married Melda Newtson on April 9, 1949. Roy worked as a dairy farmer but also worked for the Camas School District as a bus driver and maintenance. He also spent time employed by Crown Zellerbach paper mill and the Pendleton Woolen Mills. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and James and a sister, Eileen Hively. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Melda of Fern Prairie; sons, Richard Ruthanne of Mountain Home, ID, David Pat of Fern Prairie, Terry of Fargo, ND, Paul Monica of Fern Prairie; daughter, Becky Gary Stauffer of Washougal; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A celebration of Royâ??s life will be held Saturday, December15 at 2pm at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Orchards. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10am to 5pm at Straubâ??s Funeral Home in Camas. Straubâ??s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church @ 5607 NE Gher Rd., Vancouver, WA 98662.
