Obituary of Edwin Dean Sawdon

DEAN SAWDON Dean Sawdon, age 91, passed away Monday, October 8 at his home in Washougal. He was born April 5, 1916 in Detroit, MI to Almon and Isabel Sawdon. He grew up in Detroit and after high school worked at JL Hudson Department Store, Stenson Aircraft and later Douglas and Lomason Manufacturing Company. While working there he was drafted into the Army during WWII. Dean would return from his military service and later become a Missionary for Wycliffe Bible Translators. He was assigned to work at Yarinacocha, Peru. It was there he met Irma Schaal and they were married in 1959. They moved back to Orange County, California in 1969 and then to Washougal in 1990. Mr. Sawdon retired in 1995. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Irma at home; daughter, Kari Ewing of Washougal and 4 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 12 at 11am at Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Interment will follow at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to Wycliffe Bible Translators @ P.O.
