ETHEL MREE GREGORY Ethel Mree Gregory, born March 1, 1923 in Salem, OR passed away on October 6, 2007. She was 84. She left a huge hole in the lives of her friends and family. Ethel worked as a rotary machine operator at Nabisco for 38 years, where she was known by her co-workers as ?Red? because of her red hair. Her most notable job there was operating the machine that put icing in Oreo cookies. Ethel enjoyed gardening, looking at her view of the Columbia River, visiting with her grandchildren and always having her dogs. She had attended several local churches in the past, with the last being New Life Christian Center. Ethel married Sgt. John Gregory on July 9, 1942. Their family moved to Vancouver in 1970, where Ethel resided until her death. Ethel and John were married over 50 years before he passed away in 1993. Survivors include her sister, Irene Barnes of Vancouver; son, John of Portland; daughters, Loretta Fisher and Dana Lambert of Vancouver; son, Doug of Vancouver; and grandchildren, Heather, John Ryan, Gavin, Julie Anne, Jesse, Jenny, Sarah, Sean, Alexis and Lucas.
