CALVIN WESLEY COX
Calvin Wesley Cox, a Washougal resident, died August 26th in Idaho as the result of a tragic automobile accident. He was 12. Calvin was born in Portland, Oregon August 15, 1995 to Gregory and Rosalind Darby Cox. He lived in Portland until moving to Washougal 2 years ago. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant elementary school this spring. He loved motocross and living in the country. He enjoyed camping and exploring ghost towns with his dad. Other pleasures in his life were playing the trumpet, fishing with his Grandpa Darby, watching NASCAR with his Grandpa Cox, swimming, rafting, reading poetry and learning about the Civil War and Presidents. He belonged to the Historic Message Church in Portland and was active in the Golden Eagles Youth Group.
Calvin is survived by his father Gregory of Portland; mother and stepfather Rozalind & Tom Schlatter of Washougal; brothers Robby & Adam and sister Tahlia all of Washougal; grandparents Norman Cox, Robert Darby and Ellen Benson all of Portland and Pat Parks of Sacramento as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Calvin will be Friday August 31st at 11AM at the Tremont Evangelical Church on 72nd and Woodstock in Portland. Burial will follow at the Belle Center Cemetery in Washougal. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 until 5PM at Straub?s Funeral Home, Camas, Washington. For memorial donation information contact Mt. Pleasant Elementary School in Washougal.
