Obituary of George Lloyd Godson

GEORGE LLOYD GODSON George Lloyd Godson, 43, passed away June 11, 2007 at his home in Brush Prairie, WA. Born in Evanston, IL on March 13, 1964, George grew up in Portland, OR and Camas, WA, where he attended Camas High School. He graduated from Portland Community College with an associate?s degree in fire science. He began his career with Portland Fire & Rescue in 1989 as a paramedic firefighter, attaining the position of senior fire inspector and achieving the rank of lieutenant. George, a devoted husband and father, loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and children. He was a master at home improvement projects and enjoyed jet skiing and gourmet cooking. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, which brought life and laughter into the lives of all who knew him. George was preceded in death by his father, Oswald James Godson and is survived by his mother, Linda Godson of Vancouver. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Christina Wolfe Godson, and their children Oscar, 16; Oliver, 14; Otto, 6; George, 4; and Lily, 3. George was the much loved brother of Michael Godson of Washougal; Julia Godson Berreth of Yacolt; Joel Godson of Savannah, GA; Laura Godson Bush of Vancouver; and Matthew Godson of Vancouver. George was also the proud uncle of Christopher Godson of Vancouver; Adrienne Godson of Puyallup; Fallon and Beau Carter of Washougal; Sarah Powell of Vancouver; Brandon Guess of Dallas, TX; Benjamin Godson of Savannah, GA; Jennifer Godson of Vancouver; and Alexander Bush of Vancouver. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 3:30PM at the Crossroads Community Church at 7708 NE 78th Ave. Vancouver, WA. Interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
