Obituary of Joy Ann Fitzgerald

JOY ANN FITZGERALD Joy Ann Fitzgerald passed away June 5, 2007 at her home in Portland, OR. Born January 9, 1948 in Vancouver, WA. She grew up in Washougal, WA attending Clark College and graduating from Whitworth College with a BA in English and teaching certificate. Joy taught in Lincoln City, OR and Clark County Christian School. She worked 8 years for BPA in Portland. She was an active member of New Hope Community Church where she was administrative assistant in Women?s Ministries. She was instrumental in founding the Oregon Chapter of the Children?s Tumor Foundation. Joy enjoyed writing poetry, baking, listening to Christian music, traveling and being with her friends and family. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Margaret Fitzgerald and brother, Richard Fitzgerald. She is survived by her brother, Donald Fitzgerald of Vancouver and niece, Jennifer Fitzgerald Kikuchi, and two nephews, Gannon Fitzgerald of Tacoma and John Fitzgerald. Joy was proud to be a Great Aunt to Reina Kikuchi and Eric Fitzgerald. With her strong faith in God, Joy?s journey has brought her to eternal life with our Heavenly Father. Interment was June 12, 2007 at the Washougal Cemetery.
