DORIS WALLING Doris May Richardson Walling, 81, was born April 3, 1930 to Josephine Neyhart Saurman and Harold Wilson Saurman in Philadelphia, PA. Her father died shortly before her birth and she was raised by her step-father, Charles Richardson. She passed away on February 23, 2012. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Education. She became a teacher of the deaf-blind and later was an elementary school teacher in Camas, WA. Her hobbies included painting and researching family history. Doris enjoyed vacationing in European countries, such as Ireland, England and Germany, where she could trace her ancestors. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert M. Walling, two sons, Robert C. of Vancouver and Thomas H. Cassie of Bend, OR, a daughter, Amy Jo Geoff Resnick of Meridian, ID, a daughter-in-law, Figen, of Allentown, PA and a special niece, Rachelle Naas Newsome of Redding, CA. She had great love for her 5 grandchildren, Jasmine, Deniz, Josie, Bronson and Brennley. She will be remembered by her sense of humor and her wonderful smile. Doris will be placed in the Garden of Faith at the Camas Cemetery. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
