Obituary of Sallie Alice VanDe Venter

Former Ocean Park resident Sallie VanDe Venter, 74, died Wed Jan 10th' 2007 in Vancouver WA. She had lived in Ocean Park for 11 years. She was born in New York on May 9, 1932 and moved to Ridgefield WA when she was 13. She graduated from Ridgefield, and moved to the Camas/Washougal area where she was a weaver at Pendleton Woolen Mills. Later she was a part owner of Van's Chevron & Grocery in Washougal. She was a member of the Peninsula Quilt Guild in Long Beach, WA. She loved her dogs, her home at the beach, baking, her stitching groups and her friends and family. She had recently become the Food Network's biggest fan. She also loved the holidays when her family was near. She is preceded in death by her beloved Pug and Boxer dogs. She is survived by her 5 children, Susie Fry Berkley of Vancouver, Terri Fry of Washougal, Lloyd Fry of Washougal, Doug Fry of Ocean Park WA and Becki VanDeVenter Wallace of Washougal, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
