Obituary of Fay Holmes

FAY HOLMES Fay Holmes, a long-time Camas/Washougal resident, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007 in Vancouver at the age of 99. She was born November 25, 1907 in Pomeroy, WA and later moved to the Camas/Washougal area and graduated from Camas High School. She married John Holmes in 1929 and raised their family in the area. Fay was a member and was very active in the Washougal Church of the Nazarene. She was also an artist and painted many pictures. Fay also did knitting, crochet and embroidery. She enjoyed traveling, mainly across the U.S. and Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1992. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Carver of Washougal, Doris Fitz of Anderson, CA; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 9 at 2pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery.
