Bianca Veronica Gina Wolk
Bianca Wolk, age 77, passed away December 29th, 2006 at her home in Washougal.  She was born April 5th, 1929 in Massa Carrara, Italy. Bianca was born into a family with 16 brothers and sisters. She lived a humble life with a hard working father Gino, and a caring, nurturing mother Amelia. Bianca was a survivor in life, during World War II she spent 3 years as a prisoner in the Nazi concentration camp Dakow. After the war she discovered her mom had died while she was gone, she lived in a Catholic Convent until age 21. At 24 she met a sailor, Harold Eugene Wolk, he pursued her and won her love, they were married November 10th 1954, she often said that this is when her life began. As a Navy wife, she kept a home while following her husband all over the world. In 1970 they moved to Washougal. Bianca took great care of her family, and worked on the family farm. She spent 2 years working at the Pendleton Woolen Mill and several years working at Riverview Savings and Loan. After 43 years of marriage, Harold passed away in 1998. In her retirement Bianca had an active social life, playing bingo weekly, stayed active a Saint Mathew Lutheran Church, bowled on a church league, but always made family the most important part of her life.
Survivors include her niece, Marisa Spinelli, daughter Emelia Wolk, son Ben Wolk, grandsons, Matteo Fantoni, Benjamin and Brian Wolk and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 6th at 1pm at Saint Mathew Lutheran Church in Washougal.
