Obituary of Joyce L. Jacobs

JOYCE L. JACOBS Joyce Jacobs, of Camas, passed away December 13, 2006 in Vancouver after a long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. She was 71. Joyce was born December 5, 1935 in Salem , OR and was raised in Camas. She attended Camas High School and married Ed Jacobs in 1953. She worked at the Pendleton Woolen Mills for a few years before becoming a full time homemaker. After her children where grown, she attended Clark College and received her business degree. Joyce was very active with the election board for many years. She enjoyed boating, snowmobiling and traveling, especially cruises. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, in 1985 and son, Ken, in 2002 and also by her parents; two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Vail and husband Jim of Camas; 3 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons and one sister, Dorothy Bynum of Salem. A private graveside service with vault interment will be at the Camas Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas.
