Obituary of Arva Hilda Burgen

ARVA HILDA BURGEN Arva Burgen, age 88, passed away November 11, 2006 at home in Vancouver. She was born March 19, 1918 in Richland, WA where she graduated from high school in 1936. Arva married Stanley Burgen on 1938 in Kennewick, WA. Mrs. Burgen worked as a dental assistant for Dr. William Karnath for 32 years and was a life member of the American Dental Assistants where she was past State President and held all of the offices of the local chapter. Arva was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #200 in Washougal as well as a member of St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Vancouver. During their retirement, Arva and Stanley enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona. After 66 years of marriage, Stanley passed away in 2004. Survivors include her sisters, Mary Rasmussen, Martha Nelson and Edith Hansen all of Richland, WA and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 17 at 1pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery.
