Obituary of Paul Karl Thurein

PAUL KARL THUREIN Paul Thurein, age 94, passed away November 9, 2006 at home in Camas. He was born on August 27, 1911 in Berlin Germany. Paul served in the German Army during WWII and married Hilli Mehl in 1940. He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1956. Paul worked as a structural steel detailer for Fought & Company in Tigard for 20 years and moved to Camas in 2002. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Vancouver and enjoyed woodcarving. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilli, in 2002. Survivors include his son, Ingo Thurein of Camas; sister Elly Klose of Berlin, Germany and grandchildren, Martin Thurein of Washougal and Michael Thurein of Rocklin, CA. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas.
