Jaspewr was a man of few words, yet poignant. He always had his words of "wisdom" though soetimes harsh ,but from the heart. He was an excellent musician and a drive that was beyond his years. I have shed tears, for him and miss his grace that touched me. Even when Kevin and I were not doing well he stood his ground, and we learned from it. I miss him, we miss him.He left such caing friends and such a beautiful boy. I love you Jasper and thankyou for sharing yourself to me as a gentle soul.
XOXOXO Erika Echo

Jasper
A very good friend of mine.
A true inspiration in my life. A young man who sought to expand his horizons from the very beginning. He always
stayed inquisitive. He was a self made man. A true scholar and a gentleman. I am very proud to be thought of as his friend. My fondest memory was when we saw Charles Gayle on my birthday. A truly amazing jazz pioneer. Jasper was the one person who could undertsand the vibe that he threw down. May you rest in peace and prepare the terrain for us all. You are a true diamond.

I was so happy when Jasper told me he was coming to NYC for a visit. I prepared our guestroom just right and made sure my cousin would have all the comforts of home. I remember making him a gigantic belgian waffle for breakfast one morning and was shocked when he not only finished it but asked for another one! That made me feel good about my cooking finally.
Jasper, Tom and I spent the day doing "NYC stuff". We visited the Statue of Liberty and the Metropolitan Museum of Art where Jasper made us all laugh with his jokes about the skimpy clothing on the statues. Later that evening Jasper treated us to dinner ? he was always very thoughtful like that.
I was looking at a picture of him in front of the Statue of Liberty the other day when it dawned on me?Jasper was standing in a place that represented a journey to a new world where there is newfound freedom and hope. Much like where he is now. We?ll miss you Jasper.
Love Always ? Jessica and Tom

We knew Jasper through his close friend Scott Taylor. The things I remember most about Jasper are his piercing gray eyes and his love for his son. He seemed driven; the energy around him was palpable. Our thoughts are with you, especially Jonah and Sara.

When I was introduced to Jasper the first thing I told him was that I liked his name. I asked if his parents had named him for the painter Jasper Johns, and he said he didn\'t think so as he didn\'t know who that was, but our relationship was off to a great start. Over the many, many years we worked together we built a close friendship, and we talked about everything. We exchanged books and we shared music CD\'s. We both took classes at PCC and often discussed homework, professors and our future studies. When he had his son we talked about children and parenting. When he bought his house he borrowed my ladder to work on his roof. Both being vegetarians, we often talked about diet and our gardens. Last Christmas he brought vegan Christmas cookies to my house that he had baked with Jonah and his girlfriend Susie. He was such an incredible father and so proud of Jonah; he gave me Jonah\'s first pre-school picture and it still is on my fridge. Jasper was my friend. I will miss him so very much. My love and condolences to his family for their loss. He was a great and truly special person.

Mr. and Mrs. Mason, Family, and Dear Friends of Jasper,
I\'m very sorry for your loss, as I saw a very bright future for this young man. I only knew him a little over the last several years, but it was enough to know what a fine person he truly was. He was the glue that held together his place of work. His stability made everyone else\'s job much easier. Always a smile for everyone when not everyone always deserved it. With him around, working was a positive environment. He lives now in our hearts and I know he does in mine.
With Deepest Sympathies,
Michael Benner
