Obituary of Carrie Alice Douglas

CARRIE ALICE DOUGLAS Carrie Douglas, 35, passed away Friday, September 22, at SW Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. She was born October 23, 1970 in Nederland, TX to Dan and Jane Carr Henderson. She spent most of her life in Texas and received her Bachelor?s Degree in Psychology at Texas Tech and a Bachelor of Science Degree from West Texas A&M. While at West Texas she met Stony Douglas. They were married on July 11, 2002 in Chelan, WA and made Camas their home in Camas. Carrie worked as an Registered Nurse at Emanuel Hospital for several years. She later transferred to Legacy at Salmon Creek where she worked in the Neo-Natal I.C.U. and also worked recently at SW Washington Medical Center. Carrie enjoyed gardening and home decorating. She was a member of Journey Community Church and is remembered by her family as a very giving person who loved to help people. She is survived by her husband, Stony and daughter, Emily at home; parents, Dan & Jane Henderson of Camas; sisters, Amy Lampe and Christie Beel both of Camas; grandmother Ruth Henderson of Tulsa, OK and 4 nieces. A funeral service will be at New Heights Church @ 7913 NE 58th Ave. in Vancouver on Wednesday, September 27 at 2:00 PM. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be made to the Carrie Douglas Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation.
