Obituary of Ellen Olivia Benway

ELLEN OLIVIA BENWAY Ellen Benway, of Camas, passed away September 6, in Vancouver. She was 84. Ellen was born July 19, 1922 in Tacoma, WA. She spent her childhood between West Virginia and Tacoma and finally settled on the west coast in the 1930?s. She lived in Portland and worked at the shipyards during WWII with her sister. Ellen has spent the past 20 years in Camas. She was an aspiring writer and had 5 manuscripts written. Her family remembers her as a wonderful mother. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Rich of Las Vegas, NV; son, Douglas Dewell of Mission Viejo, CA; sister, Vera Maitland of Vancouver; and 5 grandsons.
