RICHARD W. LONDON
Richard W. London, age 78, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at home in Washougal. He was born April 11, 1928 in San Diego, CA and was raised in Southern California. After high school, Richard attended one year of college before joining the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. While stationed in Panama he met and married Betty Bradley on November 25, 1950 in the Canal Zone. In 1951 they moved back to California and then moved to Clark County in 1962. They would settle in Washougal in 1978. Mr. London worked as District Food Supervisor for Newberry?s and then as a Real Estate Broker for the last 30 years.
While in the Air Force, Richard played on the traveling baseball team. In civilian life he remained active in baseball by coaching youth baseball in Vancouver, Camas and Washougal for many years. Richard also loved golf. He was an active member of Orchard Hills Golf & Country Club and was a former golf coach at Washougal High School.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, at home; sons, Bradley and his wife, Terri London of Washougal, Rit and his wife, Ellen London of Bangkok, Thailand, Roderick London of Washougal; sister, Carolyn Thompson and her husband Ken of Vancouver and grandchildren, Matt London of Washougal, Travis London of Washougal, Krista Couture of Florida, Tessa London of Louisiana, Kate London of Washougal, Laura London of Washougal/Camas, Robert London of Washougal/Camas, and many nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
