Obituary of Waldemar Darvin Herr

WALDEMAR DARVIN HERR Waldemar Herr, age 87, longtime Washougal resident, died Sunday June 25, 2006 in Vancouver. He was born in Vancouver January 12, 1919 to John and Cora Pulver Herr. He grew up in the Camas/Washougal area and married Wana Baker on December 23, 1939. He worked as a logger for a time and then served as a Radar Mechanic Supervisor in the Army from January 1944 until June of 1946. After his discharge he returned to Washougal and worked at Crown Zellerbach as Superintendent of the Printing Department retiring in 1980. He was a former member of Orchard Hills Country Club and golfed as long as he was able. He also enjoyed hunting, even with a bow and arrow, and fishing. He and Wana spent many happy times traveling in the RV. Mr. Herr is survived by his wife Wana; son Jerry Herr of Portland, OR and sister Martha Dean of San Diego, CA Graveside services for Waldemar Herr will be Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 11 AM at the Camas Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
