We were saddened to read of Dr. Brooking\'s passing. He was our family doctor in the 1950\'s and 1960\'s and my folks\' doctor until his retiremment. His attentiveness, thoughtfulness and kindness will always be remembered. May peace be with the family.

Some of my fondest memories as a child involved the various doctor\'s office functions at the Brookings\' home on the Columbia River.
As I\'ve grown into an adult, I\'ve realized how lucky we were as children to have been influence by Dr. Brooking and his wonderful family.
Not only was Doc a truly wonderful physician, but a caring and loving family man, a generous philanthropist, and one of the few who truly deserved their place in my heart as a role model.
He will be greatly missed by each and every life he\'s touched.

Dear Dorie & The Brookings,
I wish I could be in Camas to attend Dr. Brookings Memorial Service and to see all your family members at this sad time. My mother Idell Jessett will attend since Dr. Brooking was very well known by my family.
Personally, I grieved after I heard of the news of his death. I am looking for a picture of him in my photo collection from High School Days.
Then in reflecting, I can\'t believe all that he had achieved in his life time. Not only was he a successful and well known Doctor in our community, he had a huge family of his own. Then he took his family sailing all over the South Pacific & came back alive to live until 91 years old. Amazing Man!
He will always be my favorite Doctor and I have the scar on my leg to remember him by.
I loved his sense of humor, and the gentle, kind personality he had. He was fun to be with, even when my finger was bleeding and I thought I was going to die while he was sewing it up.
Thank you Dr. Brooking for having a beautiful family. Camas & Washougal was your whole family and your life.
I thank you Dory Brooking for not being a selfish wife; but for being a partner & a wonderful person to help him have a fantastic life.
"I will remember YOU" MR. & DR. EMO BROOKING. Until we meet again.
Love,
Cindy

My condolences to the family. I\'ll always cherish the unforgetable dream of sailing the South Pacific with the family, the happy hours on the boat, and his and Dori\'s most gracious gift of acceptance, friendship, and giving. The Brooking family holds a very special place in my heart.

Dorie, Barbie, Lindy, Cathy, Andy, Peggy, Connie, John and Ann,
My deepest regrets to you all over the loss of Brook. He brought me into this world during one of the worst snowstorms ever. He doctored me through measles, mumps, rheumatic fever, flu, and colds. Our families have been connected since before I was born and as I think back on the times we spent together over the years I remember the fun and laughter. As the years went by we lost touch, but in the past few years I continued to run into Brook and Dorie in a variety of settings. They were always so glad to see me and to talk about what was going on and how everybody was doing. He was a great man and will be greatly missed.
Love, Cathy

How well I remember Dr. Brooking always Dr, never "Emil"coming up to Highland Terrace to see his Residents. They felt they were getting the best treatment, and the staff knew they were. Today\'s young MD\'s could learn a lot from his example. My sympathies to his family.
