WALTER R. DUPAUL Walter R. DuPaul of Washougal, WA passed away on January 25, 2012 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver, WA surrounded by his family. Walter was born and raised in Vancouver, WA to Pierre Duke and Helen DuPaul. Walter graduated from Vancouver High School in 1947 and then joined the National Guard in 1948. In 1954, he married Shirley Ingersoll and they moved to Washougal in 1955. After 11 years of service with the National Guard, Walter left to work at Pendleton Woolen Mill and then Prudential as an insurance agent before finally retiring from Tektronix/Tri Quest in 1991. Walter enjoyed reading about history and aircraft, feeding birds and riding his bicycle 4 to 5 miles almost every day. Walter was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 48 years. He is survived by his brother Melvin DuPaul of Clearwater, FL, his son Ron DuPaul of Woodland, WA, his daughter Kathy Ford and son-in-law Ralph of Washougal, WA, grandson Daniel and his wife Erin, granddaughter Brianna and great-grandson Talon. There will be a private family service at a later date. Walter was a contributor to many organizations and, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in his memory.
