MARY ANN WINDERS Mary Winders, age 81, passed away Friday, May 12 at home in Washougal. She was born December 24, 1924 in Geddes, SD to John and Emma Kubal Schulte where she grew up. She married Raymond Winders on September 3, 1946 in Geddes and they moved to Washougal in 1949. After her children were in school, Mary went to work as a cook for the Washougal School District for 9 years. She loved gardening, sewing and needlework. Mary was also a 4-H Leader and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 4278 and St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas since 1949. Survivors include her husband, Raymond, at home; children, Glen Winders of Stayton, OR, Ronald Winders of Washougal, WA, Rene? Metteer of Woodburn, OR, Connie Callahan of Carson, WA, Denise Winders of Washougal, WA, Mary Palmer of Alberton, MT; brothers, Lawrence and Frank Schulte both of Geddes, SD; sisters, Margaret Preuss of Rapid City, SD, Loretta Larson of Geddes, SD, Luella Parthenay of Brush Prairie, WA; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A evening vigil service will be Wednesday, May 17 at 7:30 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be Thursday, May 18 at 11AM at the church. Burial will follow at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
