STANTON CHESTER ROLEY Stanton Roley, age 90, passed away Wednesday, May 10 in Washougal. He was born April 3, 1916 in Washougal to Leroy and Viola Gibbons Roley. He was raised in Washougal and graduated from high school. Stanton served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in China and after his discharge he moved back to Stevenson, WA where he lived for almost 60 years. Mr. Roley married Marjorie Ahlstedt on August 10, 1943 and worked for many years at the Wind River Nursery. Marjorie died in 2003 and Stanton has spent the past 2 years in Washougal. He was a member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a great clock maker and he got enjoyment out of repairing clocks. Stanton was a rock hound and collected Indian artifacts. He is survived by his sisters, Sarah Rosentreter of Boring, OR, Melba Repman of Camas, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. At his request there will be no services. Inurnment will be in Carson, WA.
