DONNA M. TIETZ Donna Tietz, of Vancouver, passed away, May 9 at the age of 80. She was born March 1, 1926 in Castleton, ND to Delbert and Hazel Ingles Phelps. She grew up in North Dakota and moved to Camas when she was 15. Donna graduated from Camas High School a year early and then attended the University of Oregon for a year. She later entered nurses training at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. Donna married Melvin Tietz on December 27, 1944 and they lived in Camas until 1959 when they moved to Louisiana. In 1969 they moved to the Gladstone-Milwaukie area before moving to Vancouver in August of 2000. Mrs. Tietz was a Sunday School Teacher at St. Anne?s Episcopal Church in Washougal and enjoyed gardening, traveling, her home and friends. She is survived by her husband, Melvin at home; children Robyn and her husband Gary Saalfeld of Gladstone, OR, Jerry and his wife Deborah Tietz of Gladstone, OR; sister, Lorna Ziegler of Los Altos, CA; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be Saturday, May 13 at 2pm at the Camas Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be given to a charity of choice.
