Obituary of Mary Louise Simpson-Clegg

Mary Lou Simpson Clegg passed away on March 15, 2006 at the age of 88. She has resided at Columbia Ridge Assisted Living in Washougal, Washington near her daughter, Judi Lee for the last 3 1/2 years. Mary Lou was born May 14, 1917 in Boise, Idaho, the first of four children born to Lucy and Will Smith. She graduated from Pocatello Idaho School and went on to Business College. She married Eddie Simpson in 1942 and they had two daughters, Carole Ann and Judi Lee. Eddie preceded her in death in 1970. She married Milt Clegg in 1974 and he passed away in 1992. Mary Lou was a long time employee of the Union Pacific Railroad. She worked as a secretary in the Dispatcher's Office for many years before transferring to the Personnel Office from which she retired in 1980. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips to locations throughout the world and within the 50 States. She also enjoyed playing bridge and collecting stamps and dolls. Mary Lou is survived by her two daughters, Carole Ann Hallock of San Diego, CA and Judi Lee McDonald of Washougal, WA. She also has 2 grandsons, 4 grand daughters, 6 great grand daughters and 2 great grandsons. Her brother, William Smith lives in Kona, Hawaii. Her sister, Verene Smith and youngest brother Robert Smith preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held later in Pocatello, Idaho.
