EARL C. ELKINS Earl Elkins, age 86, passed away Sunday, February 5 at home in Vancouver. He was born September 22, 1919 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. Earl joined the Arkansas National Guard and was later transferred to the Army Air Corp. He spent five years in the military during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. Earl married Dorothy Parker in 1945. He retired from the State of Washington Dept. of Revenue in 1982. Mr. Elkins remarried in 1976 to Ardella Lewis and they moved to Vancouver in 1997. Earl loved golfing and was a member of Windermere Golf Course in Spokane for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners in Spokane. He is survived by his wife, Ardella, at home; daughter, Paula Lemon of Henderson, NV and granddaughter, Carree Collins of DesMoines, WA. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Spokane. Private cremation was held at Columbia River Crematory with Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be given to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children @ 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Road., Portland, OR 97201 or to Kaiser Hospice @ 2701 NW Vaughn St. Suite 140, Portland, OR 97210.
