THELMA CATHERINE McCLESKEY Thelma C. McCleskey, age 94, passed away Friday, January 27 in Vancouver. She was born February 1, 1911 in Maud, OK to George and Bessie Platz Hutton. She grew up in Oklahoma and moved to New Mexico in the 1920?s and her family homesteaded in Caballo, NM. Thelma married Bernard McCleskey in 1933 and they lived in New Mexico all their married lives. After Bernard passed away she moved to Camas in March of 2000 to be closer to her daughter. Her family and her religion was most important to her. She was a member of St. Anne?s Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM and St. Thomas in Camas. Thelma was also a member of the Potawatomi Tribe of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, in 1999 and son, Preston in 1996. Survivors include her children, Wayne McCleskey of Tucson, AZ and Sandra Burk of Washougal, WA; 6 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at the Caballo Cemetery in Caballo, NM. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas, WA is in charge of the arrangements.
