LLOYD V. EIFORD
Lloyd V. Eiford, of Camas, passed away Monday, December 12 in Vancouver at the age of 87.
Lloyd was born on August 19, 1918 in Lemmon, SD to John and Minnie Eiford. He grew up in South Dakota and later moved to Washougal where he graduated from high school in 1939. He briefly worked for Bonneville Power and Crown Zellerbach before he joined the Army and served during WWII in Germany. Lloyd married Alice Baumeister on September 11, 1943 in Camas where they made their home. When Lloyd returned from his military service he went back to work at Zellerbach where he worked until he retired in 1996 at the age of 77. Lloyd loved farming and was a member of the International Order of Foresters and AWPPW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 2004.
Survivors include his sons, Dwayne of Edgewood, WA, Donald of Kenmore, WA, Roger of Washougal, Phillip of Camas; daughter, Judy Claire Eiford of Camas; brother, Floyd Eiford of Kent, WA; sisters, June Basset of Camas, Nita Springer of Portland, OR, Margery Eiford of Forest Grove, OR and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 22 at 11am at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Vault interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery. A reception will follow at the AWPPW Union Hall in Camas. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21 from 10am to 5pm at Straub?s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to either the Doernbecher Children?s Hospital Foundation @ M/S 20, P.O.
