Obituary of Hope Marie Smelcer

HOPE MARIE SMELCER Hope Smelcer, age 83, passed away December 2 in Camas. She was born January 22, 1922 in Palestine, TX to Ramon and Antonia Vega. In 1954 she moved to Appleton, WA and married Carl Smelcer. They made their home in Skamania, WA until moving to Winchester Bay, OR 20 years ago. Hope moved back to Skamania 9 years ago and spent the past two years in Camas. Mrs. Smelcer enjoyed working in ceramics. Survivors include her sons, Ernie Roberts of Stevenson, WA, William Roberts of Hawaii, Richard Roberts of Goldendale, WA; brother, Raymond Vega of Michigan; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date. Private burial was held at Cascade Cemetery in North Bonneville, WA. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
