Obituary of Clifford D. Mohr

CLIFFORD D. MOHR Clifford Mohr, age 79, passed away October 1 in Vancouver. He was born July 12, 1926 in Wichita, KS. He grew up in Kansas and in high school his family moved to California where he graduated from high school. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific Theater at the end of WWII. Mr. Mohr also served in the Merchant Marines and the Coast Guard. After his military service he settled back in California. In 1988 he retired to Las Gaviotas in Baja California, Mexico and later moved to Washougal in 1993 then to Camas in 1997. Clifford was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and practiced T?ai Chi. He enjoyed sport fishing, salt water aquariums, bird watching, reading and world affairs. He also designed and built three of his residences and was a vocal Democrat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton & Ethel Mohr; his first wife, Naomi E. Mohr; sisters, Janice Yount, Glorine Stroecker, Clintene Walters and his infant brother, Kenneth. Survivors include his wife, Margaret ?Peggy? Mohr at home; son, Gregory Mohr of Santa Barbara, CA; nieces, Dian Goss, Tina Melton, Debbie Walters, Maggie Stroecker, Linda Stroecker, and many others. A rosary service was Wednesday, October 5 at 6pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. A funeral mass will be Thursday, October 6 at 11am at the church. His ashes will be inurned at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
