Obituary of Sidney Roy Owen

SIDNEY ROY OWEN Sidney Owen, age 73, passed away Tuesday, September 6 in Camas, Washington. Sid was born April 22, 1932 in Kansas City, KS to William and Clara Stout Owen. The family moved around as a boy and Sid later joined the Army. He served as a Military Police Officer during Korea. He returned to Kansas City where he owned and operated service stations in the area. Mr. Owen married Dorothy Riley on Sept. 5, 1953 and they made Liberty, MO their home. Sid later went to work for St. Regis Paper Corp. where he worked for 35 years. In his spare time he enjoyed refinishing furniture and being with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1982. Survivors include his daughters, Jayme Studer of Camas, WA, Kelly Owen of Kansas City, MO, Stacy Bohlken of Olathe, KS; sister, Dorothy Barnett of Liberty, MO; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10am at the New Hope Cemetery in Liberty, MO. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas was in charge of the arrangements.
