Obituary of Miriam Ast

MIRIAM AST Miriam Ast, age 91, passed away Monday, August 1 in Vancouver. She was born October 28, 1913 in Enola, PA and moved to Portland, OR at the age of seven. She moved to Camas in her early 20?s and met and married Vincent Ast in 1937. Vincent passed away in 1992. Miriam raised her family in Camas and was a former member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and took many adult enrichment classes including Chinese painting. Mrs. Ast attended many Union events with her husband before his passing. She is survived by her son, Vincent Ast, Jr. of Portland, OR; daughter Gloria Aver of Danville, CA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial donations can be given to a charity of choice. At her request there will be no services. Inurnment will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Crematory in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
