Obituary of Evelyn A. Schafer

EVELYN A. SCHAFER Evelyn Schafer, age 85, passed away Saturday, June 11 in Vancouver. She was born October 2, 1919 in Idaho and moved to Camas at the age of 5. She graduated from Camas High School and later worked for Crown Zellerbach as an accountant. After working for the mill for 45 years she retired. Evelyn married Herbert Schafer on November 20, 1992. She was a member of the Camas Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed knitting, making her own clothes and reading. She is survived by her husband, Herbert, at home; step-daughter, Karen Andrew of LaCenter, WA; step-son, Dale Schafer of Camas, WA; nephews, Dale Townsend of Bellevue, WA, Steve Townsend of Tacoma, WA, Keith Townsend of Gresham, OR, Carl Townsend of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law, Lane Townsend of Seattle, WA 6 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Saturday, June 18 at 11am at the Church of the Nazarene in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10am to 5pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. To sign the online guest book or to send condolences visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
