Obituary of Vivian Beatrice Horn

VIVIAN BEATRICE HORN Vivian Horn, age 89, passed away Sunday, May 15 at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas. She was born September 2, 1915 in Swatara, MN where she grew up. She later got her BS degree and taught school in Minnesota, Vanport, and Portland Public Schools retiring in the 1970?s. She married Jack Horn in Minnesota in the late 1930?s on St. Patrick?s Day and they moved to the Portland area during WWII. Vivian moved to Vancouver in February of 2004 and was a member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. She liked to read and cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; daughter, Sherry O?Neil and sister, Doris Siltburg. Survivors include her son, Robert Horn of Savannah, GA; son-in-law- John O?Neil of Redmond, OR; grandsons, Shawn O?Neil of Camas, WA, Wade Wimmer of Boulder, CO; granddaughter, Jeanine Hilburn of Redmond, OR; brother, Bud Olds of Minnesota and 4 great grandchildren. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Crematory in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
