Obituary of Fred Andrew Resner

FRED RESNER Fred Resner, of Vancouver, passed away Sunday, January 16 in Vancouver. He was 95. He was born March 17, 1909 in Gascoyne, ND. He married Helen Hochhalter in Rosebud, MT in 1931 and they lived in Reeder, ND until 1933 when they loaded their belongings into their 1929 Chevy Roadster and headed for Camas in hopes of finding work at the peppermill.. Fred worked the extra board many months before getting a fulltime job. He retired from Crown Zellerbach in 1972 after 38 years, mainly as a bag factory machinist. Fred was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Camas and the Portland Eagles #3426. He was also a member of the Studebaker?s Drivers Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2004 and brothers, Arthur and Walter Resner. Survivors include his son, Roy & Barbara Resner of Washougal; daughter, Lillian Daily of Lakewood, WA; brothers, Robert Resner of Portland, OR, David Resner of California; sisters, Esther Hermann of Washougal, Helen Rivard of Arizona, and Ruth Daniels of Florida; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday, January 20 at 11am at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Interment was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver.
