MICHAEL RICHARD TALBERT
Michael Richard Talbert, a Washougal resident, died at his residence December 28th. He was 56. Mr. Talbert was born November 1, 1948 in Los Angeles to Elinor Wall and Richard Talbert. He grew up in Southern California and moved to Northern California at age 14. He graduated from Summerville High School. He married Kerry Kann and they lived in Sonora, Calif. While there he worked as an upholsterer and also as a chef. They separated in 1983 and he subsequently moved to the Portland area in 1988. He started a successful upholstery business doing work for the Portland Nike store as well as hospitals and restaurants. He was best known for his high quality custom and artistic designs. He moved to Washougal two years ago. His family remembers him as the kindest and most generous person they know. He was a member of the Beaverton Elks Lodge and he also enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking and model airplanes.
Michael is survived by his father Richard of Fort Worth, Texas; mother and stepfather Elinor and Edward Gosse of Portland, Oregon; son Joel of Bend, Oregon; daughters Naomi and Shelly Talbert, both of Portland; stepsons Lloyd Kolpack of Oregon City, Oregon and Noah Kolpack of Sonora, California; sisters Debbie McGee of Fort Worth, Texas and Sherry McDade of Weatherford, Texas as well as seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Michael Talbert will be Thursday, December 30th at 1:30 PM at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas, Washington. Interment will follow at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.
