Obituary of Clara H. Hutchison

CLARA H. HUTCHISON Clara Hutchison, age 95, passed away Friday, November 12 at her home in Washougal. She was born June 9, 1909 in Gregory, SD. She married Demas Hutchison on October 19, 1931 in South Dakota and they moved to the Camas area in 1933. Clara worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company until they purchased the Camas Dairy Queen in 1963. She retired in 1975. Clara was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Camas. She loved her family and her home. She also enjoyed traveling and clam digging. She was preceded in death by her husband, Demas, in 2001. Survivors include her daughters, Anita Rodgers of Washougal, Connie McChesney of Antioch, CA; son, Phillip Hutchison of Friday Harbor, WA; sister, Meta Kimball of California; 5 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. A private family gathering will be held later. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
