Obituary of Jaqueline Kay Glaspey

Jacqueline Kay Wallin was born January 19th, 1933, to John and Katherine Wallin, who had met and married in the Camas area of Washinton State. Jackie was adopted in 1938 by Thaddeus W. Thomas and Dora Cone following the death of her mother when Jackie was 18 months old and as her father prepared for construction work in Wake Island in the South Pacific. Her father later became a prisoner of war following the attack on Pearl Harbor and neighboring islands. Jackie was raised in Portland, graduated from St. Helens Hall, where she is now a life time member of the Alumnae Association of St Helens Hall. Jackie also is a past Worthy Advisor of the Martha Washington Assembly of Rainbow Girls and a member of Eastern Star. During her life, Jackie Glaspey was a sales person and real estate investor. She enjoyed international travel to many places, inducing Egypt, Romania, Spain, and Singapore. She also enjoyed crafts and was a friend of every animal she met. Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Richard Glaspey, and her daughters Delia Gill and her husband, Jeff of Woodburn Or, Terry Klinefelter and her husband, Tim of North Carolina, Rebecca Perry and her husband Chuck of San Diego, CA, Theresa Fisher of Springfield, OR, her 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, November 15, at 1pm at Straubs Funeral Home in Camas, Washington followed by a gathering at the family home in nearby Washougal. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in her name to the Ray Hickey Hospice House at P.O. Box 1600 Vancouver, Washington 98668, where she spent her last days in loving embrace of her family and friends as she fought, and finally succumbed to, Liver Cancer on November 12,2004.
