Obituary of Donald Raymond Kraft

DONALD RAYMOND KRAFT Donald Kraft, age 72, passed away Monday, October 4 in Vancouver. He was born December 12, 1931 in Worthington, MN to William H. and Lorraine Kraft. They moved to Washougal in 1943 where Donald graduated from high school. He joined the Army in and while in the service he married Odile Lobdell in 1952. The made their home in the Camas/Washougal area and Mr. Kraft worked at Crown Zellerbach for 28 years retiring in 1979. Donald was an avid fisherman and an accomplished woodworker. He joined the Knights of Columbus at St. Thomas Parish in 1981 and was a Grand Knight for 2 years. He was District Deputy for 1 ½ years and a 4th degree member of the Knight of Columbus, Mother Joseph Assembly at St. James Catholic Church. Mr. Kraft also ran a blood pressure clinic, that worked along side the Clark County Health Dept., for seniors from 1981 to 1988. He was preceded in death by his wife, Odile in 2001 and son, David in 1976. Survivors include, sons, Tom of St. Helens, OR, Ken of Vancouver and Loren of Washougal; daughters, Chris Gaudet. Donna Oakes and Lonnie Hess all of Vancouver; brothers, William R. of Washougal, Richard of Baker City, OR, and Daniel of Vancouver; sisters, Mardelle Smith of Ocean Park, WA, Barbara Kraft of Vancouver, and Janice Bafus of Camas; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and special friend, Gail Leonard of Vancouver. A funeral mass will be Friday, October 8 at 10am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. Burial will follow at the Camas Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
