Obituary of Mabel Louise Nichols

MABEL LOUISE NICHOLS Mabel Nichols, age 93, passed away Thursday, September 2 in Camas. She was born June 15, 1911 in Phillips, NE to Claude and Maude Daniels Davis. She grew up in Nebraska and in 1927 married Mylo Mike Nichols. They moved to Grand Junction, Co where they lived until moving to Fern Prairie in 1947. Mabel worked at the Pendleton Woolen Mill for many years and enjoyed crocheting and ceramics. She also liked fishing and camping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike in 1969, son, Dick in 1989 and grandson, Steve Conner in 1974. Survivors include her sons, William Nichols of Washougal and Jerry Nichols of Ocean Park, WA; daughters, Nadene Pehl of Chehalis, WA and Leona Conner of Camas; brother Claude Davis and sister, Ramona Adams both of Grand Junction, CO; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 2pm at the Fern Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9a to 12pm Tuesday at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas.
